My name is Ray Astley and I am 51 years old. I am a member of the Royal Photographic Society and have been now for around 17 years. Photography is a passion of mine.
My portfolio comprises of a wide range of subjects. I enjoy architecture, landscapes, portraits and whatever else catches my eye. I am available for commission work and have a studio at my disposal for photo shoots.
I specialise in both digital and conventional photography. For the conventional dark room (wet process) I use Ilford film, 100 DELTA, FP4 PLUS and HP5 PLUS. I use large format SINAR P. Cameras with Schneider lenses for quality second to none.
Printing is done on Ilford double weight fibre based warm/cold tone papers to your preference and then washed in archival washers to get every last trace of chemical out of the paper. Following that I selenium tone the print followed by a further wash to ensure your original photography will stand the long test of time. Darkroom conventional pictures are produced original to order and not reproduced by scanning the negative.
Since framing is a very personal choice all pictures are left un-mounted with the border left on.
